Passover: Your Season for Breakthrough!
Seasonal Portal Opens During Passover
There is a promised open Heaven visitation and huge blessing during certain seasons of time on the calendar—which God has set up as divine rendezvous moments for us. Will we show up to this appointment/visitation with God?
God promised to visit His people during specific seasons of time known as the Feasts. God opened the heavens in both the Old and New Testament during these feasts (i.e. Passover, Pentecost etc). The same God of yesterday, today and forever will show up in the same and even greater way today, during these seasons, when we take the time out to worship and feast on Him, on purpose, during these divine appointments with God.
The fact that God will even restore in the last days the Feast of Tabernacles as He says in the book of Zechariah, points to the fact that these are seasons we can expect God to visit us. Jesus even told them to wait for the promises to be fulfilled after His departure in certain kairos seasons of time.
It appears that celebrating Passover was actually encouraged in the early Church with the revelation that Jesus fulfilled the Passover now being "the reason for the season." In 1 Corinthians 5:7-8, Paul tells the Corinthians: Christ our passover is sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven...but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Jesus, Himself, fulfills the meaning of this feast, being our Passover Lamb. He did not abolish it, but adds fresh meaning and glory to it. The glory of this seasonal portal can be opened as it was in the early Church. Even the apostles continued celebrating Passover as Jesus told them to continue it, and as often as you do this "do this in remembrance of Me." Some misunderstand 1 Corinthians 11:26 which says: "As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup," by interpreting it "take it as often as you wish." But it does not necessarily say that, though there is power in taking communion anytime.
It says "as often" as you observe it (Passover), "you do show the Lord's death till He come." Even Jesus commanded, "This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me" (verse 25). We do it in remembrance of the Lord's death—a memorial of His death and claim the blessings of His death and resurrection!
All throughout the Bible there is a supernatural exchange of things that took place when the people of God made it a point to honor the time and seasonal portal of Passover. Though we know that we can claim these blessings at anytime, the Bible does tell us to "keep the Feast (Passover)" as something extra special is to be released during this season. Just as the Feast of Pentecost was initiated by God with the ancient Israelites, we too, having been grafted in by faith in Jesus, are God's people and are invited to His party and feasts as they continue on in the New Testament with even greater glory and power released!
In fact, the disciples continued to celebrate Passover at the Feast of Pentecost as the Believers worshipped and prayed together, and the seasonal portal opened up again. There was nothing legalistic or religious about the day of Pentecost, just pure glory, love, power, authority, visitation and harvest! Sounds like a Holy Spirit party to me!
The Spirit of the Season
We have noticed every time we come together in a conference to worship the Lord during these seasons, the glory and power are extra powerful. The healings, miracles, clarity in hearing God, prophetic words, signs and wonders and overwhelming glory of God are always on a higher level than at other times of the year.
I had even noticed this in my early days of ministering as I spoke during these seasons, not knowing they were God's appointed seasonal portals. I was trying to figure out why every single year at the same season, the glory, power, blessing and harvest was so much stronger on Pentecost, Passover or other feasts. Then years later, God started to open my eyes as to why He showed up so powerfully during these seasons.
Now we purposely plan to have God visit us during these seasonal portals instead of accidentally bumping into the greater glory during these times. Often there is a knee-jerk reaction to Passover and from expecting God to move during the feasts out of fear of legalism. Yet there is nothing religious about asking God to visit you during His appointed time which He wrote about in His Word, and for us to expect the supernatural on a much higher level that attests to greater open Heaven encounters with God.
I believe that as born again Believers, we can walk in the "spirit" of the season, believing for an open Heaven and special blessing during this seasonal portal. There is a special open Heaven portal that we have noticed which opens up when we come together during Passover, worship Him, and give a special offering to the Lord. It's a time to search our own hearts of any hidden sin, asking God to forgive, cleanse and deliver us as we enter the next season. Some of the blessings that God promises in Exodus 23 are listed below:
1. God will assign an angel to you. 2. He'll be an enemy to your enemies. 3. He will give you prosperity. 4. He will take sickness away from you and your family. 5. He will give you a long life. 6. He will cause increase in your life. 7. He'll give a special year's blessing.
The past several years, besides coming before Him, worshipping and searching our hearts and celebrating with God's people, we have always given our biggest offerings during these seasonal portals. We have always been amazed at the greater glory, miracles and blessings that come as a result of our setting time aside to worship Him and give sacrificially to God! As you celebrate this seasonal portal, believe that the next 12 months of your life will drastically shift into greater realms of His Glory, Power and Blessing!

From Elijah List
Q: What's a good way to make New Year's Resolutions inspired by prophetic revelation?
A: For whatever reason, I have never been one to make New Year's Resolutions, but I like this idea! Looking at my own life, personal prophetic words, and how I should respond to prophetic words given for the whole Body of Christ, such as what goes out on The ElijahList daily, I think this is what I would do, based on what the Lord has recently been doing in my heart, that could apply to anyone, at any age, regarding any prophecy:
Resolution 1: Trust Christ—It's not about your performance and how great and big you can get your faith to be, but about faith as a mustard seed, trusting God's answer and His goodness (Luke 17:5-6).
For much of the past few years, I thought if I could have the "perfect" faith and expectation, that God would do just what I wanted Him to do, even in regards to prophecy, when I wanted Him to do it. Then I struggled to believe God's goodness towards me when He didn't do what I wanted, nor when I wanted. Faith isn't just having faith for what you want, when you want it, but it is trusting God's answer and God's timing, and His goodness above your desires…He has good reasons for a yes, no, or wait...and it's for your benefit. Trust Him, and you'll be surprised at the good things that come your way as God's gift to you that you hadn't even considered before.
Resolution 2: Be open!
Be open to new ideas God might want to give you. Be open to change, even if it's not what you expected. God is a creative God!
Resolution 3: Obey God: Step out!
Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.—James 2:21-24
Abraham's faith prompted him to action in obedience to God's word (see also Hebrews 11), and it was accounted to Him as righteousness. The same is true for you today. If you will believe God and step out to do what He says to do, even when it seems scary, you will find yourself in a whole heap of blessings in the New Year!
Q: I've heard of everywhere from little girls to old men tell stories of being caught up to Heaven, even Jesus or angels visiting them in their rooms. I've asked God for that, but nothing like that has happened to me. Is God just waiting for me to get holier before letting that happen to me?
A: I think any one of us who love God would love to have these same experiences, just as you desire to. I'm certain that God loves to hear you ask Him, as you have been provoked to a holy jealousy to seek God more personally for yourself than maybe you had been before. God loves it when we pursue Him and the things of God, and when we ask, seek and knock for Him (see Hebrews 11:6; Matthew 7:7-12; Luke 11:5-11 and 1 Corinthians 14:1).
While I can't say if God chooses to give "caught up" to Heaven experiences or visible visitations of angels often or not because of one's will or desire for them, I have heard of increasing visitations by Jesus, face to face. Just recently, at our ElijahList Conference this January, I heard of many of these encounters and it was prophesied that Jesus would be visiting many face to face in the coming year, even in dreams at night. Receive this in faith for yourself!
I don't know all the "whys" of waiting…none of us can understand God's ways. Sometimes He wants our faith to grow and for us to keep believing Him even when we can't see, because it is impossible to please God without faith (read Hebrews 11). But if we keep believing Him, He will reward us. Sometimes there is a timing we need to wait for, while God is aligning up circumstances and people and seasons. And certainly there are times that He brings us to a certain level of maturity and faith before we can be entrusted with the larger responsibilities and weightier messages that often accompany those stories of being caught up.
God doesn't want those responsibilities to destroy us, so He makes sure we are prepared for them by building us up with a strong foundation, strengthening our faith, growing us, and teaching us obedience through His Word, daily life, trials and testing (Romans 5:1-5). He often starts with much smaller things to see if we will be faithful with what He has given us before He gives us more (see Matthew 25:14-30; Mark 8:5-9; Luke 19:11-26 and John 6:5-13). While you ask, seek and knock, enjoy being faithful even in the "small" things, like giving a cold cup of water to someone who is thirsty (Matthew 10:42)—and know that you are very important to God no matter what your life on this earth looks like!

Some guidelines for the Prophetic Pat Holloran newsletter@patholloran.com |
Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ!!
I want to discuss some things in the ministry of the prophets that should always be a help and at the same time, generate accountability to leaders that are apostles and also to the body of Christ.
Throughout the recent times of the church, we have seen a movement that involves an increase in prophetic words (words of wisdom) and words of knowledge. However, it is important to really weigh the announcements that are being given in order to make sure that it is really the anointing of Holy Ghost.
As many people have become aware, there have been more promptings by the Lord to have the body of Christ hear the heart of God for these times that we live in. However, in this activity, there can come a danger of false words that proceed from a person's soul rather than the Spirit. Because of the assignments that come to people, that are to create a spiritual orphan (having no spiritual fathers), or due to the fact that a person's identity is in ministry instead of Christ in them the hope of glory, the church is experiencing a time of misleading revelations and division.
In this brief newsletter, I want to help in some way to remind the saints that there are certain conditions that the Lord has given to help us recognize the correct workings of truth and life in the prophetic.
I have seen part of the tactics and strategies that the enemy of our souls has for us in this very day. And part of this plan that they have for the church is to remove the fear of God (the awe and reverence -- Psalm 33:8 - "Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!") and replace it with the fear of man. If the fear of God is removed from the ministry of the prophets, or from the prophetic anointing, then people will push their own words forward and make it sound spiritual. When the fear of the Lord is not in a person's life, they will promote themselves and try to make people believe that they are important in the ministry of the church.
It is also true, that if a person does not have the fear of the Lord, they will not honor leaders by being willing to serve them in the visions of what God has given to the apostles. And they will usually be out of fellowship with the saints or go from church to church trying to impart a word that they feel would be something that gives them a purpose.
I know that today, the five fold gift of a prophet is to be active and in this current church age. We have Holy Ghost talking to many about the heart of our Father in heaven for us. Make no mistake, there are many words being brought to the people of God today that carry instruction, life, exhortation, and comfort. When people speak to a gathering, they can be the mouthpiece of the Lord in order to cause others to know that God really cares about them and that their prayers are going to the Father's presence.
Often times a person will say, "thus says the Lord," or "the Lord is showing me," or even "the Lord is telling me..."
It is important to realize what is happening at these times. In the supernatural realm, when someone starts to say these words (or phrases that imply or speak of the Lord giving them something for others), an angel will come and stand beside the one who is making the announcement.
This angel will then start to scribe into a book what the person is speaking. It is important to realize the colors of the words that are being written down! When a person is truly speaking the word of our Lord to the people, the ink that comes out of the writing tool is blue. This tells us that the one making the prophetic announcement is speaking with the authority of heaven. This is really wonderful as the Lord wants people to come into the knowledge of what He has for them.
However, there are times when the color is grey. This is unfortunate, as it shows that the word being spoken is not from God, but from the speakers soul. Let me explain. There was a time when I noticed that the book that held the words that I had proclaimed in meetings or to individuals was opened for me to see. I noticed that there were pages that had the blue ink, but others that had grey. In asking the Lord about this, He revealed that the blue was speaking as He wanted me to (the authority of heaven).
When I inquired of Him what the grey meant, He then told me that those were the times of speaking from my soul. The soul is the part of our lives that has our emotions, our thoughts, and personalities. In the early days of ministry, I would have a word for someone. As the word was being delivered, the person or people would start to cry. In my immaturity, I would sometimes have a thought that this was the subject that I should continue speaking to. The more I spoke, the more the tears came. However, I was to learn from Holy Ghost that this is not always the way the Lord works on people. You see, at the beginning of the prophetic word, or word of knowledge, the color would be blue. But as I continued in the direction of what had brought out the emotions of the person, the color changed to grey. This was because the Lord did not want to continue in this path, but to give some instruction to help them see the benefit of letting the Lord have all of what they were going through.
Perhaps when this occurs in some peoples lives who are speaking, they think that they are showing everyone how spiritual they can be, as they are able to bring that person to tears. I believe many do that today in church gatherings or private meetings of counsel. I was alarmed when the Lord was revealing this to me, and in my heart, there was immediate repentance. At that moment, I discerned the blood of the Lord washing away the grey words, and making the page blank. I then had to ask Jesus Christ to forgive me for these words that I spoke using His name. As I asked to be forgiven, there came a peace and a reassurance that I would be alright.
The body of Christ must start today to realize, that there will come a time when this book that holds what people have said in the name of the Lord will be read by the Lord in heaven. And the person will stand there in front of the King of all kings. Realize that when the pages of grey are read, there will be a look that no one wants to face, that will come from Jesus Christ. At that moment, I pray that none of us will hear "...I never knew you: depart from me, you workers of lawlessness." Matthew 7:23.
This has to do with the prophetic words of people. The subject matter is in Matthew 7:22 ("On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name..."). This is not about the whole church. Just those who would speak that the Lord is saying something when He is not.
In the New King James this verse actually says "workers of iniquity". That is important, because it literally means that those who are the workers of iniquity are speaking the initiation of generational curses into the family lines of the people they are prophesying over!!! So today, we must not say words of idle speaking anymore in the prophetic. Now I would like to remind everyone that we are in the time of grace because of the cross of Jesus Christ and the empty tomb. Yet, once we get this knowledge of only speaking what the Lord says and we add to it, I must ask "Can the grace continue?" I believe there will come a time when the Lord will say "ENOUGH!" And in that moment, may those that He says this too realize that their folly, their pride, or their false spirituality is going to hurt them. As Paul wrote to us all in Romans 6:15 - "What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!" I have thought lately, what would happen if the experience of Ananias and Sapphira were to occur today in the church (Acts 5:1~11)? What would cause a change in the hearts of the prophetic if someone stood before leaders, or a group of people, and said "Thus says the Lord", and because it wasn't the word of the Lord, they were struck dead in that moment? I think that would definitely get everyone's attention. I would hope that it doesn't come to this, but if the prophetic gifts and anointing will continue to give the words of flesh and soul, this swift movement of the Lord will happen.
Today, if you are not sure of what you have spoken to people in movements of prophetic thinking is of the Lord, at least ask Him for forgiveness. Then ask daily that Holy Ghost leads you in all truth (John 16:13 - "However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.."). With this conviction, really start to inquire of the Lord if that which you receive is to announce, or instead, to make intercession. Many times I will receive something from the Lord, but it is not always to give out. It is for me to pray and to make intercession so that the next time a messenger of the Lord comes to the people, they will be ready to receive it.
I will be presenting to you other aspects of the prophetic in the coming months. I know that it is important to get the fear of the Lord not only into the prophetic, but into the body of Christ. But know that there are many other aspects of what is a real prophet, and what does it mean to walk in humility.
Some of the subject that we address are:
- ~Being in fellowship - ~Honoring authority and the foundation of the church - ~Amos 3:7 and the real prophet who serves - ~Keeping the prophetic alive inside of an individual - ~What is a prophetic word and a word of knowledge (this one will surprise you as to how much we are calling words of knowledge prophetic). - ~Correctly testing a prophetic word - ~When to speak, and when to intercede - ~And more
Again, I want to reassure you that this is not about correction. It is about being able to establish some much needed guidelines today that may be missing in some fellowships and gatherings. And of course, it will be done with love. Always remember, the Lord told us to "...first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye" (Luke 6:42b).
God Bless Each And Everyone Of You, In The Wonderful Name Of Jesus Christ!

IT'S THE GLORY REALM
In 2009 we are doing mighty fine
In the kingdom of God we will not whine
But we will dine and live in the vine
Because it is the right time in 2009
We are not afraid of the news for we are news makers.
We are not ashamed of the blues for we are heaven born.
We are not dismayed because we are overcomers.
We are not victims but we are victorious ones.
We are not left or right; wing we need both to fly.

Ten Ingredients For Miracles by Terry Somerville Dear friendsOften I'm asked what is the key for healing and miracles. Usually I will say 'the love of God". But looking over the healing ministry the Lord has given me I see a number of things I've learned from others that have been very helpful. Here are ten ingredients for miracles. 1. A Proper Understanding and Faith in the Gospel Miracles are released when we focus on God's grace rather than man's failings. Our righteousness does not move God's hand of healing, but faith does move His hand. We need to understand the good news. God love mankind, and wants to set people free. Jesus died for sinners, and He heals sinners today. All has been done, only faith is needed. We've seen many Hindu's healed, in spite of the fact they worshiped their gods that very day! It's just because Jesus loves them and the kingdom was near! He loves people and hates the darkness! 2. The Motivation of God's Love. The "Love Anointing" The motivation of a healing minister must be love. In fact, it must be Gods love working in us that empowers us. I call that the "love anointing". If our motive is healing itself, doing a ministry, rather than flowing in God's love for people, we will probably not see many miracles. God is into people not buildings, organizations and ministries. He is not obligated to fulfill our mission, only His. If our motivation is compassion and the Kingdom of God we will see many miracles. Jesus promised! 3. Faith to use our Kingdom Authority. Jesus imparted two things to His apostles and told them to heal. He gave them: a) Authority - the legal right to heal in Jesus name. b) Power - the spiritual dynamite to destroy the works of the devil. Jesus commissioned (gave the legal right) to the twelve, the seventy, and then to every believer, to have authority over all demons and sickness. The first Christians began using this authority to heal the sick even before they received the power of the Holy Spirit! Amazing. IT WAS NOT THE ANOINTING THAT HEALED, BUT THE AUTHORITY! -our legal right to act to heal! After Jesus rose He told them to wait for the power of the Holy Spirit as well. Think of it like Canada's border guards. They have authority because they are commissioned to enforce Canada's immigration laws. Recently the government increased their power by giving them firearms. It's the authority that counts. The increased power of firearms just backs it up. Today Christians often interpret a lack of power to be a lack of lack of authority. If they fail to see healing they conclude God does not want the healing and they give up. Instead they can increasing the power (through fasting and prayer for instance) The truth is we ALWAYS have authority (the right to) heal. Christians are commanded to heal. It's our commission, our mandate and our privilege, our God given authority. But we are breaking in against the gates of hell, and the last enemy is death. So contend for healing! Complete victory awaits till He returns. 4. Command Instead of Praying. Often healing happens when we stop asking God to do it, and just heal them as He commanded us to do. This was quite a challenge to me until one day the Holy Spirit asked me " Terry, How do you praise me?" I said " I open my mouth and speak wonderful things about you." Then He said " How do you cast out a demon?" I said " I tell it to leave and it has to go." Then He said. " So how do you heal the sick?" I said "Tell the sickness to go and the body to be well???" I began to do this and the results went sky high. Jesus said to us "...Cast out demons, heal the sick...." We do it, we don't ask God to do it. In order to walk in this level we need to understand that our authority is like the centurion. Look how Jesus spoke to the fever, when he healed Peters mother in law. We are under Jesus commission, and sin, sickness and disease is under us! See the next section. 5. Boldness Every time faith is involved we step past our comfort zone. Healing ministry takes boldness. You are a servant and steward of God grace. You must not listen to that "inner pharisee" evaluating everything you do. Self consciousnesss must go! (It shuts down healing) In meetings I often "put God on the spot"... way out there. What do I mean? I will speak so highly of His love and wondrous grace, that it's like He wants to show everyone it's true! Then I stand a difficult need in front of everyone and ask Him to demonstrate Hid love and power. Jesus is so wonderful! 6. Persistence Isaiah 53 says Jesus took our sins AND our sickness. If someone said they didn't feel all their sins could be forgiven we would insist that they were all paid for at calvary. But when praying for healing we often give up and say "I guess God doesn't want to heal. What nonsense! Healing was purchased on the same cross as forgiveness! We need the same persistence for healing that we have for forgiveness. We understand that we struggle against sin, likewise we will struggle against sickness with that same grace. Many times we've seen healings increase through persistence. Sometimes after ministry a person says their condition improved slightly. Often if we try again it improves, and again and again! In some meetings I have done this five times in a row with deaf people and their hearing was completely restored! Persistence may take days and weeks, but never give up! 7. Try it out! "Do what you can't do" People need to take their healing quickly and not be thinking it over or trying to feel something. Sometimes people pray themselves right out of the healing. Instead we need to what Jesus did and tell people to do what they can't do. Jesus often said things like "Stretch out your hand, get up and walk" Many time healings happen as people take that step of faith. No prayer, just a command and in the doing by faith the healing happens! I guarantee increased results in Jesus name! 8. Rebuking Demons that Cause Infirmity. In his autobiography, Smith Wigglesworth said that if he could do his years of ministry again he would always rebuke the devil, because demons were involved 80% of the time. Often theres more to healing ministry than simply healing. Many times I've seen deaf ears open only after when I rebuked a deaf and dumb spirit. In most of those cases I had no special revelation (except Smith Wigglesworth's autobiography! ) Many times backs are not healed until I rebuke a demon off a persons lower back and sciatic nerve. The devil brings many infirmities but we are commissioned to destroy the works of the devil. 9. Body of Christ Unity and Ministry. Leadership that Gives Opportunity. The Holy Spirit distributes His gifts throughout the whole Body of Christ, not just one member. Many times I've laid my hands on someone and they were not healed, so I called others to do it and the gift of healing manifested through one of them. The most healings happen when everyone gets involved. This is why I train congregations in praying for each in the meeting. All participate. Some ask "why isn't everyone healed?" It is because the fullness of Christ, (including healing) is present in His body, not an individual ministry. When the Body is in one accord and one in the Spirit (a supernatural glory) all are healed. When I've seen this, the glory of the Lord seems to join each one in a supernatural unity. But it is rare. In the modern church many that the Lord would use to heal the sick are given no opportunity to minister. Pastors need to KNOW they are equipping the saints for ministry and let them do it. 10. Just do it! Believe it or not, the major missing ingredient is simply to take action. Most of the saints in the west never even try laying hands on people and praying for healing. Nothing happens if you don't act. To put it another way, more people are healed when you pray then when you don't. Guaranteed. Blessings Terry Somerville www.totalchange.org
OPPOSERS OF REAL REVIVAL TPW Feb 12, 2009OPPOSERS of REAL REVIVALS -by TPW.
THE PROBLEM with Revivals is that, like the Lord, they are so supernatural! For instance, "at that moment the power of God swept in upon half the congregation, and one half slumped on top of each other. On the other side men and women fell back in a trance throwing their arms up and remaining in that position for fully two hours."
Does that seem "decently in order"?
So, many a leader has tried to "correct" God's methods. When Revival broke out in India's Ramabai Mukti Mission not only were the girls "stricken by conviction of sin, followed by confession," but "noteworthy were all the emotional accompaniments, the physical phenomena, the sensation of burning, simultaneous prayer, and speaking with tongues, and (later) women praying with loud crying."
What was Pandita Ramabai, "this well-educated Indian lady of the highest caste, influenced in her ideas of propriety by the Anglo-Catholics," to do? She tried to impose rules.
"But I soon found that I stopped the work of the Holy Spirit by interfering with it. I wanted to be proper and conduct meetings in our old civilised ways. But God would have none of it. He laid His hand upon me, put me low in the dust, and told me to take my proper place, that of a worm. He said, 'My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways.'
"I humbled myself under this severe rebuke and took my hand off the work. The Holy Spirit has full liberty."
The result was the conversion of hundreds of young women.
Dr. Nicol MacNicol wrote: "Those whose religion in 1907 seemed too emotional to endure long, 20 years later were bearing their witness steadfastly."
Revivals can even be stamped out completely: "I have been pastor of a church where Revival broke out among a little group in the congregation. I was jealous and I stamped it out," Dr. Alan Redpath told a Ngaruawahia convention.
"I know of many a church (or) college where a group of people have felt hungry for God and sought His face ... They too have been stamped out at faculty (leadership) level - 'too emotional'."
Every Revival has been branded "too emotional." Yet it is the maker of man's emotions who stirs emotions in a Revival, sometimes contrary to the intentions of the leader. David Brainerd states "a Divine influence caused the persons to cry out in anguish of soul, although I spoke not a word of terror, but on the contrary, of Christ's willingness to save."
Charles Finney, often accused of stirring up the people, found that "a few words of conversation would create a distress that seemed unendurable ... in as gentle a manner as I could ... I pointed them to Christ ... I said, 'Now please go home ... Try to keep silent, and do not break out into any boisterous manifestation of feeling' .. they went out sobbing and sighing" until at home one "fell on the floor and burst into a loud wailing, in view of his awful condition."
That is the key: The view of their awful condition.
We naturally feel afraid at moments of great danger. And in Revival, the Holy Spirit makes sinners vividly aware that "the soul that sinneth, it shall die!" Naturally, when those sins are washed away, people are, "So full of joy they could hardly contain themselves."
However, fallible human beings can overreact. In the Welsh Revival: "Excesses were in evidence, as in every period of awakening in the history of the Church." Some Christians, seeing only those excesses, ignoring the incredibly massive blessings, criticised.

Steve Shultz:
"Debugging the Prophetic: Questions and Answers with Steve Shultz"
Q. I've noticed that some prophetic people struggle with pride, ego, control, and oftentimes even intimidation towards others. Why is this?
A. First of all, people often forget that prophetic people are tempted in exactly the way those with any other gift are tempted.
In other words, satan is an equal-opportunity tempter of men and women, boys and girls, both saved and unsaved.
Having said that, the more visible the person, be it the President of the United States, a well-known speaker, or a highly sought-out prophet or prophetic person, the harder the "enemy" would certainly work against such a person in all types of temptations.
Even with a Hollywood celebrity who is unsaved, the temptations toward pride, ego, the control of ones inner circle of friends, and so on, is a temptation that's freely "given" by satan. That's why we're often so enamored by a celebrity who remains humble. We're taken back, because it's sometimes unusual to find those combinations in the same person who possesses both fame AND humility.
Now, back to a person—ANY person with a visible gift in the Church—although Jesus' instructions were mainly to the individual, He taught about requirements for leaders who were also His followers:
"Jesus called them together and said, 'You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. [It should] not [be] so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.'" Mark 10:42-45 [emphasis added]
So the bottom line is this: Both the saved and unsaved—by default—are automatically tempted to be prideful, controlling and many other things. If you ARE saved, satan would have an even greater reason to tempt you. This is true of any Christian, and it includes of course, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, and evangelists.
Q. Why do prophetic people seem to have a harder time hearing from God for themselves than they do for others?
A. Even as less-than-perfect Christians, it's easy to see why this, if you really think about it, is a good thing, rather than bad.
Why?
God made it that way so that we would HAVE to depend upon one another. I have personally prophesied to prophets who were at a level in their prophesying that I've only dreamed of.
Yes, in those few cases, my prophesying was accurate, even to the dates, cities and locations. But the humility of those prophets to receive revelation from a person (like me) was God's intent all along that it should work this way. It keeps the Church operating the way God designed it:
"Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, 'Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,' it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, 'Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,' it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be?" 1 Corinthians 12:14-19
Sometimes, I'm an eye to a prophet and vice versa. Sometimes, I'm a mouth. Sometimes, I'm a foot. And so are we all—at any given time.
Q. I've witnessed several public prophetic ministers get all kinds of words at the same time, which SEEM disconnected with each other. What's that all about?
A. Sometimes, a prophesying person gets into a "zone" (as it were) where once their prophesying opens up, he or she begins to prophesy over anything and everything and they don't necessarily know how the puzzle pieces connect. It's the people receiving the words who are the ones who often know the connection.
I've been to more than a few meetings myself where a prophet begins to call up many people and skips around giving a word here and a word there. As he or she skips around, a word connects with people standing beside each other or even across the room. He or she is just moving with the Spirit of God—and God is in the process of connecting the dots all over a meeting place, and He does it simultaneously.
For example, I've seen where a name, a place, and birthdate is called out and that person stands up. Then the prophet might say, "Who's Sally Jones?" Sally stands up, and then the prophet goes back to the first person and says something like, "You lost contact with your daughter and God would like to heal that." Lo and behold, the Sally standing up IS that daughter. Now, while I just made up the specifics of this example, this exact type of prophetic happens in meetings with prophets and prophetic people often because God wants HIS work done HIS way and in HIS timing.
Remember that we are told in Scripture that Philip had four daughters who prophesied. It doesn't tell us what, and to whom or even why they prophesied. It only tells us the fact that it happened.
"Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the seven. He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied." Acts 21:8-9
That's it! There were four daughters of Philip. They prophesied, and that was that! Why would that be all that was told in Scripture?
The answer is so simple it defies, at times, the obvious understanding intended by the Holy Spirit. Because that's all God wanted to preserve for us—to know about those four daughters. God doesn't make mistakes.
God simply wanted us to know that prophesying was common, was Scriptural in the New Testament, was done by women, and what they said and how they said it were far less important than the fact that they did, in fact, prophesy.

NEW!!!
Q. People say, "You're just as close to God as you want to be." So if I'm not really intimate with Him, it's all, my fault—because I must not want to be close to Him. Is that right? And, if I'm not close to God, I can't hear Him or prophesy for Him, right?
A. Again, this is another common saying—another good-sounding statement made by the Church, of which we are all a part (and which we love)—yet this statement is without support in Scripture. In fact, in the Bible, the Apostle Paul, toward the end of his ministry said just the opposite:
"For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing…"—Romans 7:19
Paul discerned that after many years of serving God, he still had to depend on the Blood of Jesus, because even with Christ living inside him, he—Paul—could not be good enough—or as close to God as he wanted to be.
As an encouragement to you, you should press on into Holiness, but nevertheless realize something. Just a few verses later than what I just quoted, Paul penned the famous Scripture:
"Therefore, [because of the above] there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death."—Romans 8:1-2
Q. I was taught by a prophet that although everyone can prophesy, not everyone is a prophet (or holds the office of prophet)—therefore they say only a prophet can give correction or warning. Is this true?
A. There are a number of things taught as being Scriptural that are implied truths, but are not necessarily "taught" outright in the Word.
In I Corinthians, some of the richest teachings on the subject are available. There are a few other places, but here is a significant portion where people get their information.
"...in the Church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others..." —1 Corinthians 12:28 [emphasis added]
Yet just a few verses later, it says:
"Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort."—1 Corinthians 14:1-3 [emphasis added]
Among these two short passages, written in the same letter only sentences apart, many in the Church have decided that some have the "office" of prophet, but others can only prophesy and they should eagerly desire to do that. (The King James Version in 1 Corinthians 12:31 says we should covet to prophesy.)
Let me say that both COULD be true—that is, there COULD be the office of prophet while others can only prophesy. I'm here to tell you though, this doesn't seem to be provable by Scripture—nevertheless, at best, it's just inferred.
Personally, here's how I operate: I have people that from time to time, come into my life who claim to speak for God. If they keep showing that they know the secrets of my heart and the secrets about my life, and they serve Jesus Christ, then I give them the right to speak into my life prophetically, both in encouragement and also in correction.
Revelation is revelation—whether someone claims the "office" or simply the "gift" of prophecy.
Said another way—or said again—the Scripture doesn't say that one person has the office of prophet while another can only prophesy. There is only an inference.
So I do as the Bible says: if someone prophesies and is generally encouraging to me according to 1 Corinthians 14:3, then when I need real correction and the same person feels led to correct me (and there is a history of gentle correction with grace from this same person) I allow that kind of prophecy or prophesying too.
Q. What makes God choose one person over another to become a Prophet? And what can I do to make this happen for me?
A. I get this question a lot. And by the way, I still ask the question a lot to the Lord—so you're in good company! I know people who, from the time they were children were constantly caught up to be with Christ and see heavenly things. Some of those people, later in life, went into a terrible life of sin before repenting. Others were kept pure all along.
The Scripture tells how HE decides:
"All these [gifts, achievements, abilities] are inspired and brought to pass by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, Who apportions to each person individually [exactly] as He chooses."—1 Corinthians 12:11 AMP
In other words, HE, the Holy Spirit, does whatever HE wants to do.
But as always, there are two sides to every story. When it comes to prophecy, apparently, even if you can't choose to be caught up at will into heavenly places, you CAN earnestly desire to prophesy—the King James version even commands you to "covet to prophesy." It seems to be the only gift we are actually commanded to, and are blessed by God if we do, covet it.
"Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order." —1 Corinthians 14:39-40 KJV [emphasis added]
It's not often that you hear the command by God, "Covet to prophesy," preached as being connected with "let all things be done decently and in order." Apparently, you can do both at the same time—covet to prophesy (God would not tell you to covet what you could not have), while at the same time being decent and orderly.
In my own case, I was taught that I could learn to covet prophecy, and then I could learn to prophesy at will. So, I took training in that area, and then, after practice, I just started prophesying—and guess what? It worked.
The good news is that with practice you can learn to prophesy whenever you want. So keep practicing!

James W. Goll:
"Receiving Visionary Revelation"
Thank you all for your prayers for my family and me in this season of adjustment since my wife Michal Ann's passing on September 15th. Please continue to lift us and our staff up as we learn to live in new ways.
This email deals with a subject close to my heart - receiving revelation, specifically Visionary Revelation. For more on this subject, see my study guide on Dreams and Visions and my book, Dream Language.
As a Seer and a Feeler (prophetically), I truly believe that moving in the visionary realm has moved me forward faster and with more accuracy in daily life and ministry. Vision is needful in these times. In order to be people of vision we need to be able to see.
"Jesus gave them this answer: 'I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all he does. Yes, to your amazement He will show Him even greater things than these.'" John 5:19-20
Jesus did nothing of Himself. He only did those things which He saw the Father doing. This is our model and example. Let us "look to see" what our Father is initiating and respond to His activity. Let us ask Him for visions of what He is doing and wanting to accomplish in the earth. Then we need to DO IT!
So here is my teaching communication for this week. Read it, see it, and pass it on!
In Christ Jesus!
James W. Goll
Introduction to Visionary Revelation
Visionary revelation is manifested in three different ways: visions, trances, and dreams. This lesson will cover an overview of materials on visions and trances.
Visions are closely associated with dreams, but visions occur during the time when the individual is fully awake and conscious. Dreams and visions are signs of God's last day outpouring of His Holy Spirit. God reveals Himself to man through the use of the eyes of His heart by granting dreams and visions. God greatly desires to communicate to us through the eyes of our heart (Ephesians 1:17-18), but we must first recognize this faculty within us and the importance it can have as we present it to Him to be used by Him.
Since Christianity is a heart-to-heart, or spirit-to-spirit relationship, we would expect to see this faculty used much in our relationship with God. However, it is not often used as it should be among Western Christians, because we have been trained to live out of our mind rather than our heart. We have put logic on a pedestal and neglected the value of "seeing in the Spirit." So now, let's consider developing our capacity to discern God's voice through the benefits of visionary revelation.
Developing One's Capacity to See in the Spirit
A. Jesus Our Model
1. John 5:19-20 - Our Lord Jesus set the example as He did nothing of Himself, unless it was something He saw the Father doing.
2. Matthew 13:34 - Jesus turned everything in life into a parable, and parables become relatable picture language to communicate the needed message.
B. Scriptures on Looking
Read the following scriptures and ask the Lord for your capacity to see into the things of the Holy Spirit to be increased.
1. Daniel 6:10 2. Habakkuk 2:1-3 3. Revelation 4:1-2 4. John 8:38
C. Suggestions on Becoming Open to Seeing in the Spirit
1. Be still outwardly and inwardly. Learn to quiet your soul before God.
2. Enter a biblical story using vision. Simply see what you're reading and pray over the scriptures, asking the Spirit of revelation to open them up to you.
3. Focus intently on Jesus and the eyes of your heart will be enlightened and faith will be ignited (see Ephesians 1:18-29).
4. In intercession for others or whatever circumstance, see the person for whom you are praying and allow Christ to enter the circumstances.
5. Ask God to speak to you when you're awake and when you're asleep (see Psalm 127:2), then record a summary of it.
6. Speaking in tongues (praying in the spirit) opens up communication with the Holy Spirit and allows images to arise within.
7. Quiet prayer and meditation opens you up to reflective insights which can form a vision.
8. In times of praise and worship, the eyes of your heart may be opened and you can see what you're singing. Praise magnifies the Lord and He is enthroned by the praises of His people (see Psalm 22:3 and 9:11).
Levels of Vision
A. Internal Vision
1. Zechariah 1-6; 4:1 - Zechariah's night visions were most likely received this way (internal visions), as the prophet was awakened in preparation for the visions.
2. Daniel 7:1,13-14 - These profound visions were called "visions in the mind."
3. When the face of a friend or relative pops into our mind, then we know we must pray for them. These snapshot picture forms of revelation from the Holy Spirit are used to urge us to pray.
B. External Vision
1. Elisha saw the hosts of God encompassing the city of Dothan in II Kings 6:17. He then prayed that the servant's eyes would likewise be opened.
2. Stephen gazed into Heaven and saw the heavens open and saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God in Acts 7:55-56.
C. Visions While in a Trance or a Dream
1. Peter received a vision while in a trance (see Acts 10:10-23).
2. Paul received a vision in the night as he slept (see Acts 16:9-10).
Detailed materials are available on this subject in the study guide Understanding Supernatural Encounters.

Greek Words for Visionary States
The following are ten different Greek words that each describe a different aspect of visionary revelation.
A. Onar - Matthew 1:20; 2:12,13,19, 22; 27:19 - It is a common word for "dream." It is a vision seen in sleep as opposed to waking.
B. Enupnion - Acts 2:17; Jude 8 - It is a vision seen in sleep. It stresses the givenness, almost surprise quality of what is received in sleep.
C. Horama - Matthew 17:9; Acts 7:31; 9:10,12; 10:3,17,19; 11:5; 12:9; 16:9-10; 18:9 - It is translated "vision." It can refer to visions of the night or sleeping experiences, as well as to waking visions.
D. Opasis - Acts 2:17; Revelation 9:17 - This can signify the eye as the organ of sight, an appearance of any kind, even a spectacle.
E. Optasia - Luke 1:22; 24:23; Acts 26:19; II Corinthians 12 - It is translated "vision." It has the sense of self-disclosure, of "letting oneself be seen."
F. Ekstasis - Mark 5:42; Luke 5:26; Mark 16:8; Acts 3:10; 10:10; 11:5; 22:17 - We derive the English word "ecstasy" from this. It literally means "standing aside from oneself, being displaced or over against oneself," and ordinarily there is a sense of amazement, confusion and even extreme terror.
G. Ginomai en pneumati - Revelation 1:10; Matthew 4:1; Mark 1:12; Luke 4:1; Luke 1:41 - This is translated "to become in Spirit." This refers to the state in which one could see visions and be informed or spoken to directly by the Spirit.
H. Ephisteni, paristeni - Acts 23:11; 27:23; Luke 1:11; Acts 10:30; 16:9 - This simply refers to the fact that some reality stands by in the night or in the day.
I. Blepo and eido - Revelation 1:2,11; Mark 9:9; Luke 9:36 - It means "to see" or "to perceive." These words are used to mean "see" in the normal outer sense, yet are also used to refer to seeing in the spiritual sense.
J. Apokalupsis - Revelation 1:1; I Corinthians 14:6,26; II Corinthians 12:1,7; Galatians 2:2 - Translated "revelation," it literally means disclosure, divine uncovering or revelation.
Let Us Learn to Use the Supernatural Tools the Lord Has Given Us
Let us each pray that the eyes of our heart will be enlightened that we might see. Dr. David Yonggi Cho has stated, "The language of the Holy Spirit is dreams and visions." Watchman Nee said, "The picture is the Holy Spirit's memory." Let us learn to use the natural and supernatural tools the Lord has given us and see what God is doing.

Black: And I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand (Revelation 6:5b). Their appearance is blacker than soot, they are not recognized in the streets; their skin is shriveled on their bones, it is withered, it has become like wood (Lamentations 4:8).

30 ATTRIBUTES OF SUPERNATURAL PASTORS
Date : 10.27.08
Most of us view apostles and prophets as ministers who operate in the supernatural power of God. Shouldn't pastors be "supernatural," as well? We think so. Here is Paul Manwaring's list of 30 Attributes of Supernatural Pastors.
* They hear God. * They are connected to community. * They understand times and seasons. * They pastor FROM Heaven. * They create a culture of HOPE. * They see the whole picture. * They lay down their lives and are sources of life. * They feed themselves on GOOD news. (addicted to testimonies) * They know where their help comes from. * Their hearts are constantly filling and giving. * They know the word and spirit * They honor caregivers and Doctors. * They NEVER give up. * They respect & honor the sick. * They don't change their theology to suit circumstances. * They don't know all of the answers and aren't afraid to say so. * They know their weaknesses & are vulnerable & transparent. * They know their destinies. (Who He is; What He came for & Where He is going) * They worship & know the goodness of God. * They rejoice. (Can't be a weeper only!) * They are hungry for more of God. (Hungry, Holy & Humble) * They understand Justice. * They have boundaries but NOT walls. * They are secure in their salvation. * They are content; not wannabes or grumblers! * They don't walk alone. * They have a history of FAITH FULL NESS! * They are life long students. * They honor the other 4 offices of Government. (Apostle, Prophet, Teacher & Evangelists) They make room for them. * They are true sons & daughters!! ( daughters added by Theresa Phillips:) )
